The Albemarle Commission is currently taking applications for the 2024 Essential Single Family Rehabilitation Pool for eligible homeowners who live in Camden, Currituck, or Pasquotank counties.
Homes must be owner-occupied in one of these counties. Property cannot have been repaired or rehabilitated with federal funding of $30,000 or more within the last 10 years.
This program completes needed home repairs on single family dwellings.
Up to $40,000 in repairs can be completed on eligible homes. Scope of work addresses essential repairs such as: roof repair or replacement, electrical upgrades or repairs, furnace and heater repair or replacement, structural repair, handicap modifications, plumbing repair or replacement, and other essential repairs needed in the home. Homes must be free of hazards to be considered for this program.
- The program is reserved for elderly, disabled, and/or Veteran full- time household members, or a child six years old or younger with lead hazards
- Whose incomes are below 80 percent of their area’s median income
- Homes must be owner-occupied or have life estates
- Applicants must provide Proof of ownership (Copy of deed or proof of lifetime rights)
- Proof property taxes are paid
- Verification of household income is required
Pre-Applications will be accepted from the 1st to the 15th of each month and received no later than 12-31-2025.
