Scuppernong Water Managment Study

The Albemarle Commission, in collaboration with Washington and Tyrrell Counties, has joined forces with various organizations to conduct a comprehensive study on flooding in the northern Albemarle-Pamlico peninsula. Our partnership with a diverse range of organizations brings together scientific expertise, local knowledge, and community engagement to ensure a well-rounded approach to this study. Duke Resilience Accelerator Grant

The Albemarle Commission was awarded a Duke Resilience Accelerator Grant to develop The Albemarle Stormwater, Water Quality, and Flooding Outreach Toolkit. This project proposes to develop an outreach toolkit of materials including templates for educational brochures and social media outreach that can be customized by each of the Albemarle Commission regions 10 member counties and 15 member municipalities. The areas of outreach and education will focus on stormwater, flooding, and water quality, and the materials will include content that helps to educate target audiences in the region on hazard impacts and educate them so they can make informed decisions, allowing for the development of resilient communities and economies.
