The Albemarle Senior Games (ASG) is a program of the Albemarle Commission Area Agency on Aging and is sanctioned by the North Carolina Senior Games (NCSG).
NCSG began in 1983 with a vision to create a year round health promotion and education program for adults 55 years of age and better. NCSG is the largest Senior Games program in the United States, with over 65,000 participants!
The Albemarle Senior Games serves the largest geographic area in the state. Our local games primarily serve Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Gates, Hyde, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell and Washington counties, but are open to all full-time residents of North Carolina.
Albemarle Senior Games’ events are held annually in March, April and May. For many years now, we have had over 300 participants!
Each spring, participants come together for friendly competition with others in their own sex and age category within five year increments.
In 2014, NCSG lowered the age requirement to participate in Senior Games. If you are 50 years of age or better, we encourage you to join us!
You don’t need to be an athlete, because our goal is simple “Fun, Fitness, and Fellowship”.
